About this website (must read)

Keep in mind, this was written as sort of a manual and then turned into a website. Certain things like referring to the bird as “he” and *WBDL (will be discussed later) may be confusing but will probably only pertain if you’re brand new to bird ownership and are starting from here. Also, even though I structured this website like a book; Tabs, left to right and from each tab, top to bottom being the way to read it if you want to read it in order, I’ve had to repeat things in multiple areas because most people simply won’t read ever section. That being said, you’ll have to bear with having to read things more than once but it never hurts to repeat good information.

Having the water silos set up properly has water for drinking as part of diet subject matter but using a silo and positioning it in a certain area of the cage is a different subject than what temperature the water should be and why or what to expect when a bird takes a bath. Since that is the case, if you are looking for information about something and it’s not where you think it might be, look elsewhere in a similar section. It may be part of another subject. I do not wish to constantly repeat things in each segment because that may lead to the reader thinking that each segment really has no new information. Either way, if you can’t find an answer to your question, well, quite frankly, we may not have it.

We’re not acclaimed experts. We’re just doing this because this is what we’ve learned and also for the fact that nothing like this is out there. Sometimes that’s the way the cookie crumbles but if you can’t find it or think it’s something we should add, please feel free to contact us. Also, for Parronts who have experience with other breeds, if you have any information you’d like to impart on others, please let us know. We’d like to create separate pages for other species since they have different patterns, behaviors, idiosyncrasies and needs. So if anyone has any information they’d like to add about other bird species, take the categories that we have here for lovebirds and mirror them about your bird breed. Send us what you have and we’ll try to put the info up on this site somehow. That way we can at least do a branch off for those who are looking for specific info on other breeds.

I have a section marked for other breeds that will deal with behavior mostly since most bird “needs” are fairly similar. But a fanned Amazon tail and a headbanging Cockatoo are behaviors that mean nothing to a Conure owner but could mean a lot to Parronts with those breeds. I’ll probably just include stories from people and links to professionals but if you wish to help out and submit information please contact us and we’ll try to put it up as soon as we can. Perhaps if it gets big enough we’ll start another website to cover those species of birds. However, donations will be required for such an endeavor 😉  That being said… let’s begin.
